Throughout the year, Ms. Sitko (College and Career Counselor) hosts evening virtual programs to assist adults and their children as you embark on the process of post-secondary planning. All programs will be posted here within a week of the event.

 

Skilled Trades Program Discussion

You'll hear from panelists from various trade/technical institutions.  Each panelist spent 5-7 minutes discussing the careers their institutions are preparing students for, with particular emphasis on those that are in the most demand.

PHEAA Virtual Financial Aid Night

This presentation provides an early understanding of the financial decisions students and their families need to make concerning post-secondary education. We discussed the revamped FAFSA.

2024 College Counseling Series

Post-Secondary Education Planning Night

This was a program for parents and guardians to understand the basics of post-secondary planning. College counselors from Moon and Pine Richland High Schools along with guest speaker, Jennifer Winge, Vice President for Enrollment at the College of Wooster, shared tips for a successful launch to your college search process. This was a general presentation for all students who are thinking about attending a four – year college.

Transition to College Informational Meeting

Parents of students with IEP: this is an informational discussion about what you and your child need to know as they apply to college and then matriculate to college. Professionals from four different types of post-secondary institutions share their wisdom on how students with IEPs can successfully navigate the college search and selection process and what the students need to do once they start college.

2023 College Counseling Series

NCAA Information Session - 3/28/2023

Representatives from the University of Pittsburgh Athletics Office walked us through understanding initial NCAA Eligibility for Division I, II and III. They also gave us a glimpse of life as a collegiate athlete. This is an insightful and educational hour essential for any potential collegiate athlete.
